Water Pollution
75% of the earth is water. But only 2.5% of earth's water is drinkable! Thats why we need to save it by not polluting it. A lot of sea animals die because there are garbage boats that carry garbage. They have trash, chemicals or cigarette boxes in it. We bring it out to open oceans and dump out all of the trash which goes into the ocean and can kill sea animals. In the ten most polluted cities, India is mentioned THREE TIMES! And the #1 most polluted city is Mumbai, India. This is because India has no trash service to dispose of trash, so the Indians have to through their trash away in the river near their homes. India is so polluted that 1,600 people die of diarrhea A DAY! When the people get diarrhea, it's because of the chemicals in the water. They get dehydrated. But when they try to get hydrated again, they can't and just get more sick from the water they are drinking. The number of deaths a day is equal to eight 200-people jumbo jets crashing a day. Unless someone does something about India's water pollution, everyone will die.
Water Borne Diseases
The Cholera is a disease you can get from drinking polluted water. The symptoms can include watery diarrhea and vomiting, low blood pressure, sunken eyes, wrinkled skin, severe dehydration, and a rapid pulse. Cholera is caused by polluted water. It spreads by people drinking water contaminated with the feces (poop) of the infected person. In places where people have the Cholera a lot, you need to treat water in a special way: First, you need to sift the water through a folded blanket to get rid of some of the germs. Next, boil the water for a minute. Finally, put it into a liter of water, and add half a teaspoon of salt and 6 teaspoons of sugar. Another way to treat water is to put a few drops of chlorine into the water and wait 30 minutes. Wash your hands after going to the bathroom and before preparing food. And DO NOT GO TO THE BATHROOM NEAR THE RIVER!!! Make an outhouse at least 30 meters away from the river. Keep flies away from food and wash all food before serving it.
