We need to save water because there is very little drinkable water left.
Though over 75% of the earth is water, only about 2% is drinkable! A lot of water is frozen, polluted, or salty ocean water. |
In order to save water, we need to not wash dishes or clothes as often, take shorter showers or baths, use less water when brushing our teeth, and fix leaky faucets.
|
Here Are Some Ways to Save Water:
Tip One: Only wash clothes when necessary! If you still have clean clothes, wear them! You don't have to wash the same outfit every day when you don't have to!
Tip Two: Don't wash your dishes so much! A way to do this is don't use a separate cup every time you want to get a drink!
Tip Three: Fix leaks! Leaky faucets can waste about 20 gallons of water a day! That means it wastes over 100 gallons a week!
Tip Four: Install a Low Flow shower head in your bathroom to cut back on water use. Also install an aerator on your faucet. It makes bubbles in the water so you can get your hand s just as clean but use way less water.
Tip Five: While you are waiting for your shower water to heat up to the right temperature, put a bucket under the faucet to collect water. You can use it later to water your plants.
